I really liked A Series of Unfortunate Events. Also, Harry Potter.

I agree with almost all that have been mentioned here. Would add almost everything Mercedes Lacky has written (if you've never read her start with the [i]Arrows Of The Queen [/i]series.) Also Katherine Kurtz.

I'd like to read the Ranson Riggs books. Slow reader though. Don't get me wrong, I read well, just slowly lol and my mind wanders
