Is this normal?

I have always wanted to be in the medical field as a career. Now, suddenly, at the age of 19, I want to become a writer. They're so different that it seems abnormal.

It’s not . My goal was to be an opthalmologist . Got the grades , got accepted to medical school ... and then my mother’s health started failing . I just couldn’t bear to be 500 miles away from them , so I declined and went in another direction that kept me closer to home . I have never regretted the extra time I got to spend with them .

I recently graduated and started an office job, and I don’t wanna work anymore. This is not how I wanna spend the rest of my life

19 and unsure of your career choices? Sounds pretty normal to me.

@ShellAccount It's just with how different they are it seems weird.

Most people with PHD or MD are also published writers.

You have a much better chance of publishing in a medical journal than you do getting a non fiction or romantic novel published.

@AthrillatheHunt Why is that though? I mean having a greater chance of having something medical published.

In this instance I know the what, not the why. So sorry.@fluteacorn

@AthrillatheHunt That's okay. No need to apologize.

Why not do both?
