@hertoy As part of my degree, and profession, I learned that a fomite is an object, or material that may be contaminated with infectious organisms. A good example is a door handle, door-knob or even the door in a public toilet, bathroom or washroom, especially after someone has not washed their hands after using the facilities there. You might meticulously clean your own hands then touch a dirty surface and become contaminated. Try looking at the walls, floors and ceilings etc., using a black light/ UV lamp.
