What’s your favourite genre to read?

SatanBurger · 36-40, F
Cosmic horror similar to HP Lovecraft, I like that genre because it often questions perceptions of reality. I like a good humanity tale but sometimes I get tired of us being the center of every movie, book or art out there. I also like the feeling of chaos, as chaos has patterns. There's some elements in the cosmic horror variety that are like that.

I would say ultimately Cosmic horror is one of my favorites by far.

Then there's bizarro literature (not related to the superhero lol.) Bizarro literature is like the literary equivalent to small cult following movies:

Science fiction involving machines, I like AI and questions of consciousness. There's some really great older science fiction writers out there who touch on that subject.

And also hard boiled detective novels especially if they are set in an absurdist type environment. There's a book called Last Days by Brian Evenson, one of my favorite books in the category.
