Why are Catherines in literature and on tv always endearingly naughty?

Wuthering Heights, Reign, The Vampire Dairies.... They all have similar personalities. They're selfish and stubborn, with big personalities, but you can't help but love them.

Is this a coincidence?

@coffeedimplez Are they different if they spell it Cathryn? There's an actress called Cathryn Harrison, she usually plays refined and civilised ladies.
