To what extent should children be encouraged to read for entertainment and discouraged from watching T.V., YouTube, Netflix, etc. as entertainment?

I’ve seen the mind numbing effect of tv on kids, both from watching my niece grow up and from working with other children who aren’t allowed to watch too much tv. I think it’s very important to encourage the joy of reading early on, and to discourage allowing children to watch hours of tv and YouTube

As much as possible IMO
