Do you ask yourself this?馃挱

yes, but i discovered Ramana Maharshi quite young. an offshoot of the advaita vedanta school of thought called sometime neoadvaitism. they're describing what is referred to as the true self.

@reflectingmonkey I can remember being really young 4 or 5 and digging into myself repeating ( in my head to myself.) I am I this is me and I remember feeling myself like a ball of energy just below my chest.

I always wondered if other people did that. And I also remember the feeling of being me would get so intense that I had to stop doing it after a while.

@Lostpoet that is really interesting. this technique is very strait forward with no bullshit so it is totally possible to discover it naturally. i had a similar experience actually when i was around 15-16 discovering ramana maharshi. i wanted to find this "true self" so i laid down on the bed and close my eyes and began searching for the center of my sensation of "I". i sort of looked at my idea of self and pealed off everything that was something that i do and not something that i am and at the end there was just me existing, i was like just a concentrated energy existing and the personality was just a role i play to play the game of life. what i am is that , "I AM THAT" a book by another advaita master who had a lot of influence on Eckart Tole, shri Nasargadatta Maharaj.)

@reflectingmonkey That's cool that it's actually a thing. I can't do it anymore even when I try and it's weird where the feeling of me was it was more in the center of my body like where the liver is and I remember seeing a ball if light in my minds eye like purplish red color and it would get more intense as the feeling of me got intense and I'd get scared so I'd have to stop doing it. If I try it now the feeling of me is in my head like around my ears and there is no ball of energy it's just me repeating I am I this is me over and over again.

Love this. Know thyself and you're there.

@Peaceful Thanks. It's from a book I'm reading. I don't usually read these kinds of books, but this one is pretty good.

@SW-User You are definitely not a nobody. I like you a lot and that was before I even started talking to you when I first got back on this site a year ago.
