Are books cheaper if you pre-order them?

I want to ask my dad to pre-order [i]Are U OK?[/i] by Kati Morton, mainly because I don't want to wait until December to actually order it, when it officially comes out.

@SW-User I know, but I prefer to read "real" books, like paper ones and not electronic.
