Do you read the Bible?

I have been reading the Bible almost daily since 1985. I typically have morning devotions and usually read through the Bible once a year. I have read many different English translations. I have used the One Year Bible that breaks the Bible up into daily readings that include Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms, and Proverbs. I have also used a Chronological Bible that prevents the events into a more readable timeline.
I've never read the full bibles old or new testament. I have only read parts of it.
Honestly The Qur'an has some better passages in it about Djinn. It's mostly pretty boring too though.
I think my favorite religious text are the Vedas.

@LesserUgly I read portions of the Qur'an, parts of the Gita, and other world religious texts when I was a young man.
@SW-User i just like to read. This isn't a religious text, but Manly P. Hall wrote The Secret Teachings of All Ages. It is super interesting

Funny & frightening, don't you think?
Hardly the kind of book for children!

When I was a christian I studied the bible thoroughly. That why I'm no longer a christian.
King James Version always connects to me.
Only certain parts of the new king james. Like Corinthians. I could never get through genesis. So unbelievably boring. So and so begate so and so. Who fucking cares?

@LesserUgly @malizz I have read through genealogies a number of times, but most often I only skim them now. They are very tedious.

But they are there for a purpose. There are some reasons why genealogies are important. Genealogies help substantiate the Bible’s historical accuracy. They also help to affirm Biblical prophecy. There are others too, but I will leave it with that.

@SW-User I did look into the genealogies. They come from oral tradition and so are not always consistent, in much the same way as errors crept in during manual copying. They do have significance for Orthodox Jews and others with a scholarly interest in Jewish history and early Christian tradition.
@SW-User curious. I'm going to have to look into that. It's just so tedious to read through though.

It’s almost as if there not a passage in the Bible about changing it hmm 🧐
