I'm not crazy about the author, but Ender's Game is a good read. Also, Neuromancer, but someone else already said that!

Let's see... Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, 1984, Animal Farm, A Scanner Darkly.

@Straylight I used to have a copy of it. I read it after watching the movie.

@dalfo I probably can't help you, then. All I read is nonfiction, now.

It depends what kind of thing you like. There are books I love now that I hated at 21.

@dalfo Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

Neuromancer is my favorite, American Gods is a close second.

The Far Pavillions by M. M. Kaye is my favorite love story/adventure. It is looong though.

Pirate Latitudes by Michael Crichton. Though the ending was a little disappointing.
The Elric Saga by Michael Moorcock.
'The Cherry Orchard' - Tchehov

You want something philosophical you say? Have you read, "Siddhartha" by Herman Hesse?

One book I loved as a teenager in the 80's was Dreamsnake by Vonda McIntyre, excellent storyline, post apocalyptic.
