There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.

--Ernest Hemingway

I heard this in the movie The Kingsman:Secret Service. I like it a lot. :)

I dare say old Ernie was a modest man but nobody in their right mind would day his was not a life of living by his own advise.

I've been to his home, stood where he stood, and dined and drank in his chair.

So you'll parson me for saying. Ernie weren't any less full a chips than I can be. Lol

I'm a lot more superior to my former self, you know a child.
Nat15 · F
@SW-User Might be true for you but there are a lit of adults who were probably ok as kids who grew up to be assholes.

@Nat15 I can see your point.

Yeah....but he could write!!@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout He was not sir. He had a monstrosity of a problem getting drunk.

The stuff was almost weak as water for him just as for me.

I'll venture he never slurred a single syllable.

Lol

@Nat15 He had balls the size of Gibraltar. And things to write of that people wanted to vicariously experience.

But other than that he had a terrible time with people not liking the fact that he was one of a dying breed.

That's what killed him. Living without a single person to forgive you for not being like the rest may sound commoner than it really is.

I don't think Hitler read that book.
Nat15 · F
