I Like People Who Are Open Minded

Which is the one book that has really impressed you?
Carla1951 · 70-79, F
That is a difficult question... There was a Paperback book I picked up at the doctors office.

Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen
A young Indian boy has been fighting and seriously hurt another child in school. His punishment for beating Peter senseless is Circle Justice. Prison or banishment to an Island. To live alone one year on this Island.
The scenic tour is Alaska and finding this spirit bear nobody has seen but Cole himself.
Try your library. My sister found her copy in the children's section.

@Carla1951: I think the one who did put it in the children' section hasn't read the book.
Carla1951 · 70-79, F
@Madeleine: True. But this honestly moved me. I loved it.

I assume NOT the one I wrote? When the words roll off my brain, and onto my tongue they sound Right. I feel as well as see them in the horse pastures I describe. Audio books are great to play when on the road. We have the story read to us as we drive. Maintains our concentration.

@Carla1951 Are you a writer?
Carla1951 · 70-79, F
@Madeleine yes Madeline I have published one book.I merely felt the JOY in seeing my words on paper. Mine was a story of a little girls dream in having her first job careing for horses on an exclusive horse farm. Title is, Moving Towards a Dream. By Carla Wolf Lalonde, found in Amazon.com.

For me,"Kindred", by the author Octavia Butler. *Dana,a black woman of our current time period is tossed back into slavery times. Dana tries to teach the slaves slaves to read and write. In order to write their own papers as well as assist freedom for others.
