But welfare massively boosts the economy by preventing the longer-term burden of malnutrition and boosting consumer spending. Really, what we need is some kind of universal social benefit like a UBI or PBI.

@SweetNSassy yeah, i hate busting my ass 18 hours a day to pay for people who are too lazy to do anything. it's annoying. that's why i moved to Florida. no personal income tax, plus the weather lol everything is cheaper compared to the states that tax you until you have nothing then raise the prices in housing. makes no sense to me

@empanadas it’s because politicians make they money off us ! They give a small portion of our hard earned money to lazy people and than use most of it for their extravagant lifestyles. Meanwhile if I didn’t have all these bullshit taxes to pay, I could be living my best life too!😩it’s so not fair

@SweetNSassy I’m happy to lend a helping hand to someone that needs it until they are able to get back on their feet. The problem there is the welfare system has been doing this for generations. Generations of families have played the system and there is no incentive for them to find work. Talking about raising the minimum wage is only going to make it that much harder for those that want to work to find work.

At the end of the day, the disabled and sick were lumped into the same pot - so it needs to be addressed, too.
