I Long For Someone to Really Know Me

Often times i think. Hey, im o easy to talk to a great listener, and id be a real great best friend.

But then someone tries to get close to me and i clam up thinking why would they want to talk to someone like me. I always think that if people talk to me its just cause at the moment their real friends arent around. Or the people they want to be friends with arent here.

This is a sad way to feel. I'm certain there are plenty of people who chat with me, simply because I happen to be available at that moment. So what? The only way people get to know you is by talking to you, and exchanging thoughts and feelings and opinions. If only one in ten decides that you're someone they enjoy, then you've found a potential friend. If only one in ten of those potentials is someone you enjoy, then you've found a best friend.

It sounds easy, but if you're shy and insecure, then you need to decide to risk a bit. Or decide that alone is exactly what you want.

Those who are chatting because no one else is there, aren't very important anyhow. You just do you. Be real. If someone doesn't like the real you, then you just missed out on a chance to be hurt. But if you don't just be real, and someone thinks the fake you is cool....

Well it wouldn't end well.
