I Love Movies

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

I’m so glad we chose to see it today, on Xmas Day. We already did all our family stuff, so today was going to be pretty quiet if we didn’t see the movie.

It’s longish, but that isn’t as much of a problem as it is with some long movies. Not much of the material is just filler. The costumes and scenery are great - I always notice that. And the story is pretty intense and pulls at the heart.

I enjoyed it, but it was bittersweet to see.

@ChampagneOnIce I still miss Carrie Fisher.

@SmartKat I do too. So very sad.

I find all the gnashing of teeth about this movie largely misplaced. It was a lot better than the last one. My wife literally fell asleep in the middle of that one - and I wish I had too, she completely skipped the ridiculous casino planet detour.
