Do people who hurt people to push them away enjoy torturing their victims?

If they're pushing them away, I think it's usually about self preservation so I'm gonna go with no.

Just sounds like a communication problem. I wouldn't go as far as torturing though, I'm sure for some uncommon cases yes but that's it.
