Life Experience: Seeing a Boy Get Knocked Down By a Car
This happened years ago when I was about 9 years old.
We had a day out to the beach with our church and once the buses returned us to the chruch that evening, we made our way off the church grounds to walk home.
Opposite our church was a road, which wasn't particular busy, but there was an old Ford Escort Mark 2 coming on and another boy who was about 7 at the time, ran across the road without checking and ran right into the car.
I saw him go under the car and can still see his face rolling beneath the car it went over him. The car came to a stop after he was already out the back end and he just lay in the road unmoving, eyes closed.
I was convinced he was dead. Until about 3 months later I saw him in church again. I was so relieved he survived. I could not sleep well for a few nights after witnessing that.
