You only need four pens at all time

3 black pens;
One to use: Self explanatory.
One to lose: Also known as a back up.
One to give away: Because no one else seems to carry their own damn pens.
One blue: For official documents or to impress someone. Blue ink is not as common as black and stands out. It makes an impression and you'll more easily be remembered on resumes, applications, or giving out your number to that hot number.

You could carry a red pen, but traditionally that's for correcting things and is not valid on most legal/official documents

I use a blue pen for signatures. That is an easy way to distinguish an original from a copy

@HoraceGreenley Exactly!

What about green ones? We get a few of those in multipacks.

@RedwoodBarman No, I've never heard of it. It sounds like some obscure fantasy or cartoon series. My avatar is one I used on another site years ago when I returned after a 6-month break and called myself "Guess Who". Only two people on that site correctly guessed who I was. Lol :)

@NankerPhelge You're partly right. The Riddler is a villain in the Batman franchise. He frequently challenges Batman to prove he's smarter the form of riddles and puzzles. Look him up, he's an interesting character, actually.

@RedwoodBarman That wasn't how I acquired my avatar. I did a Google Image search for question marks and I liked this one the best, not having the foggiest notion what it was supposed to represent.

Be advised....blue pen is not permitted on official legal documents in some jurisdictions.
The ink MUST be black to be considered a valid original in those places.
RedwoodBarman · 31-35, M
@DragonFruit I have yet to personally find documents that must be in black ink only, but thank you for correcting me.

@RedwoodBarman No problem. Only recordable legal documents in some jurisdictions (not all)....but 30 years as an attorney taught me to be careful when having legal documents executed in those places.

I use a quill and black ink because I'm a fancy bitch
