Can you maintain your composure during a heated argument without resorting to swearing or deflecting?

I don't like to swear, and I hate conflict because of my background. Abusive language, anger, or irrationality makes me want to run and hide. What I normally do, on SW, is block verbally abusive people.

Hopefully, yes.

I don't think I swear, which is shallow, aggressive and would only ruin my case, but I find composure harder to maintain.

anonymouslyyours not if i am provoked enough i try my best but with some people not easy
ArishMell · 70-79, M
@smiler2012 I think some people are provocative for its own sake - perhaps it gives them some sort of thrill.

Yes. And I don't have heated arguments. There are much better ways to resolve things.

If a I am arguing at work I don’t swear. At home I do. Also cry when I’m angry,

Not swearing, no. I will probably swear at the other person and point my finger in their face.

I don't get in arguments.
I just say: "If I agree with you, will you go away and leave me alone?"
