I'm ugly asf. My hair is TOO LONG and it's bothering me. :(( And my mom won't let me get it cut cause she's not supportive of me being trans and she still misgenders me and calls me her "daughter" :/
I know it's scary when your parent(s) get mad at you, but you just gotta do it. You are your own person.
You are YOU no matter if she refuses to accept it. You don't have to live in an alternate reality where you have to pretend to be someone else just because she can't or won't understand.
One day I walked into a hair salon with hair down to my but and walked out with a pixie cut. I am cis-gender, but it felt amazing even though my mother was seriously not impressed. I felt like myself. I can't imagine how good it would feel for you.
You will survive your mother's disapproval. You can do it. One step at a time.
For me cutting my hair short felt like I was affirming who I am. I'm queer af, and if my appearance happens to signals that I belong to the queer community because it matches stereotypes, I'm okay with that. Having my hair short is an act of being true to myself, and of defiance.
One of my friends had to shave her and her husband's head because a child brought lice into her house (long story), but after it grew back a little, it turned into everyone's favorite hairstyle she ever had. Like, seriously, it was super short, but damn, it looked good. Both of them did, in fact. I say go for the short look! It could come back looking even better!
I'm the one that is ugly asf! And I wish my hair were longer! And I'll not let my mother dictate to me how to live and how to love.
I recently posted the ONLY pic of me on social media for #InternationLesbainDay and again on #LGBTQTakeover
It got over 30 likes and 5 retweets. Why? I'm just me-nothing to really brag about!
You do what pleases you let the others be. Family or not. Life is far too short and there are no guarantees! We could be dead by next week! Do what you wish in regards to your life and lifestyle and live to please you and no one else!
I'd misgender her until she learned. I did that with my mother.

If you really are 18-21 you are an adult. Get it cut however you want.
@swandfriends You can't trade your gender identity for a sexual orientation that fits some of your gender identity's "traditional" characteristics because it's more convenient. It really doesn't work that way. The two are not even related. I know you mean to be kind, but such ignorance can be incredibly hurtful to people on the recieving end of it.
Your mom had a daughter so you gotta relax with this making you upset. Be yourself and it doesn't matter if she calls you her daughter. Especially if shes a good mom just focus on the important stuff.
