@Perspectivedetective A regular, middle aged man moved to a small New Hampshire town and discovered a footpath that led into the woods near his house..it was the Appalachian trail...he decided he wanted to walk the trail to Georgia, he invited a friend who turned out to be SO inept and needy...laugh a minute...from the buying of all the equipment they needed to the moment they return home

@Fernie No, that's the French Police Inspector, BUT there is a new BBC TV series of the stories starring Rowan Atkinson; a 1990s BBC version that ran 2 seasons; a 1960s BBC version that ran 4 seasons; and the French TV series that ran from 1991 to 2004. There are at least 75 Maigret books by Simenon, all of which are being republished in new translations one per month by Penguin Classics.

@WineandCoffee I already finished it when it came out XD. It was very good, too, but I liked season 1 better. Really sad it got cancelled! 😭
