Remember watching the Moon Landing?

I remember watching at school, maybe grade 3? I definitely remember asking myself,
"I wonder how they will get back"?

I watched the 50th anniversary programme glad I did looked incredible but the atmosphere at the time just wow
QuietEd2019 · 31-35, M
@Gusman hehe I know just wow is an understatement it has to be the most watched event in the history of television world wide audiences everywhere seeing mission control not catching what has become the most iconic two sentences ever was from a 50th anniversary latecomer (I am 28 so could not have watched it at the time, even my mum and dad May have missed the opportunity) rather amusing “what did Armstrong say what did he mean”
Gusman · 61-69, M
@QuietEd2019 For many years there was contention as to what Armstrong said because there was this slight break in the wording, "That's one small step for....(a) man, the a was not heard.

@Gusman I guess though was the second part they seemed to miss altogether one giant leap for mankind

I was home for some odd reason and remember mom wanting to watch her soap operas. :(
Gusman · 61-69, M
@DeWayfarer So you never got to see a once in a life time spectacular😕
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Gusman Yep, mom never understood a whole lot of things. Like why she was making insulators.

My older brother had to explain to her some of her own work went up in those rockets, possibly even in Apollo 11. :(

Dad let us stay up until 10 PM to see it live that night. Bedtime was normally 8:30 PM.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Pfuzylogic It was about 12.30/1 pm in Tasmania.

I remember sitting in school hall watching a TV with it on but I'm sure that wasn't Apollo 11 but a later one.

Gusman · 61-69, M
