Depends on it, a fresh perspective is sometimes needed. When I was about 4 years old our parakeet escaped and flew out of the house. Everyone was crying and saying we lost our bird. I said “No we didn’t...we can catch him and bring him back inside.” My uncle looked at me and said “How are we gonna do that?” I told him to get the cage, take it out to the 50-foot maple tree and hang it on the bottom branch with the door open and he would go inside to eat and then bring him inside. He did just that, but hung it on the clothesline. Everyone stayed inside watching from the porch while my uncle stayed close. About 10 minutes later the bird flew in the cage and started eating and he walked over, shut the door and brought him inside. Then he looks at me and asked “How did you know what to do?” I told him when I go out to play after long enough I get hungry and come back to the house for food....

@cherokeepatti What a beautiful story. You are naturally clever.

@Madeleine I’ve caught wild birds too, and one blue jay didn’t want me to touch it but it would eat out of my hand, watermelon especially.

I walk away and leave it for somebody else to fix

I don't have a problem thinking out of the box. I have had a lot of life experience to draw from.
