Anyone knows how to be more confident?

Especially public speaking, if so...pls help meeeee
Keraunos · 36-40, M
If you lack confidence, don't "be yourself". It's best to construct an alternative persona that you adopt during those events. This can easily be done over the course of a couple of months by imitating in thought, then word, then action the "style" of any fictional character in which you admire the traits you're seeking to manifest. Practice in places where nobody knows you well.

The number one rule with Public Speaking is to believe in what you are talking about.
Pick a topic you are passionate about and know intimately then it really should not be an issue.
Allow your passion to show.
Don't worry about the audience, just talk like you would with your, Girl/Boyfriend, Mother/Father, Brother/Sister, Best Friend

I actually write down exactly what I'm going to say. They say not to but it helps me. Remember the audience wants you to do well, they want a good presentation.
The more you do it the easier it will become, even if nervousness persists, you've been down this road before.
Optional:imagine the audience naked..I never tried that strategy but it helps some..good luck

What's the context ?
What sort of public speaking. ?
Classmates. Family. Business ?
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Pizza School: So it's in front of peers and Teachers ?
Well, as a topic, that's kinda broad ! More info. required.
So, you have to give a talk on the topic of health. In general ? with any specific aims ?
Pizza · 18-21, F
Yea I just have a problem with talking in front of many people @Picklebobble2

@Pizza The trick to speaking in public is to imagine you're reading a story from a book to people listening.
KNOW YOUR SUBJECT
Try and keep it light. Brief. Use short-ish sentences. Imagine a beginning a middle and an end.
A starting point. What you want to cover. How to conclude.
Sound enthusiastic. Use pictures; diagrams; case studies. Make it seem real to the audience.
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
I think it starts with knowing the subject matter. What are you speaking on?
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Pizza Jeez. That’s a very broad subject. Are you focusing on any one thing? How well are you informed on the issues?
Pizza · 18-21, F
Well it’s just hard for me to speak I’m front of many people @SimplyTracie
SimplyTracie · 26-30, F
@Pizza Can you sit during your speech? If not, just think of your message as a conversation with a friend. Find an acquaintance in your audience that you might be fond of and pretend to talk to that person.

It is after all, just a conversation.
Accept your actions... responsibility. Jump from one topic to another that makes you feel different

You do public speaking for 10 years.

Practice in the mirror. Honestly it is a good way.
