Who has had a bad car crash?

Gusman nearly left this world yesterday morning.
Driving back to Perth after 12 hour night shift, doing 110 km/hour on cruise control, Gusman fell asleep and hit a tree head on. BANG.
I woke up 1 second before hitting the tree and said, Gusman is dead. BANG.
Car seemed to start smoking though most likely was steam from the radiator. I thought I had better get out just in case. Door was very hard to open but managed to get out though could not walk because of a broken foot. Within a minute 2 people had stopped to assist and carried me away from the car.
It was only 3 degrees and freezing, could not stop shaking because they took my boot and sock of before the foot swelled too much.
One of the ladies was a nurse from Moora, the other a physiotherapist from New Norcia. Then a guy pulled up who was an Ambulance driver. What are the odds?
Took about 45 minutes for an Ambulance to arrive, being in country Western Australia.
50 km trip to the Hospital. Now here I am, the next morning with a broken foot in plaster, bruised Sternum and whiplash, (very sore neck).
Will be having some time off work☺

You have now qualified to be an astronaut. Pulling 68 gees without a flight suit and surviving is quite impressive.

Man you were going fast. That tree must have stopped you in your tracks. Thankyou for showing me this. I'm so glad you're still here.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Eddiesolds Very solid tree. Vehicle hit it smack in the middle at 68 mph.
Lucky I woke up so late. If I had woken a few seconds earlier, no doubt I would have tried to swerve to avoid the tree, then hit it drivers side on, bang, dead.

@HerKing Yes, I knew a few people who had a Saab....they certainly loved them. I was saddened to hear they are no longer being produced.
We wish our friend Gusman a speedy recovery!!🤗
faith2hope4love · 56-60, F
@Gusman Wish I was there to take care of you...it is not easy being alone when you are recovering!!🤗
🙀 Shit.... WTF, Gusman... Why did you have to drive bk so tired?? 😱 😾😾

So glad you're ALIVE, you sleepy head!!! 😭🤗🤗 🤗

You were protected by angels and this is the best rescue story I've heard after that Canadian car crash with a similar rescue. What are the odds?

Nothing, just that when you're pure I your heart, and help others, God is watching over you too. 🤗 😇

Stay blessed, my dear... 🤗 😘
@Gusman So if I were nearby, I'd surely come to visit you, my dear... 🤗 But since I can't, here's some Get Well Soon wishes for ya...

hmm... Keeping my fingers crossed too, my dear. Amen! 🙏 🤞

Be thankful it was only a tree and not another car
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Tminus6453 I know, that is where the tragedy could have been. I passed onto the wrong side of the road, if it had been a car, that person may have been killed because of my idiocy😞
SW-User

[c=#BF0080]Good thing you’re alright..

I’ve been in 3, all proven there was nothing I could do to prevent them. Still dealing with chronic pain from them. I hope you won’t have that problem too. [/c]
Gusman · 61-69, M
@MellyMel22 Luck does come along from time to time. Which is why we are still here.
This was my first bad crash. With only a broken foot and blot clots. I too hope there are no lasting pain issues. 6 weeks tomorrow. Foot still very painful but bones have mended well

@Gusman [c=#BF0080]Well I wish you the best with it.. 🙂[/c]

HerKing · 61-69, M
@Gusman As you would...I thought the same just before my first motorcycle crash when I was about 18. I thought, I'm over. Landed in a ditch full of water!

This is a month later...are u ok?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Wiseacre Thank you so much. 5 weeks into my recovery, the blood clots are slowly clearing so not so much pain. Still unable to use my foot as yet but time will heal.
Laying back with foot elevated watching plenty of movies, doing a jigsaw, crosswords, cetra, cetra
Wiseacre · F
@Gusman glad to hear...speedy recovery!
revenant · F
wow..are you in hospital now ?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@revenant Yes, in Midland Hospital with a plaster cast on my foot.
Got off with soft injuries really. At that speed, hitting a tree head on, could have been lights out.
