Why does a person park on the street and sit in their car for a really really long time with the headlights on (shining in your general direction)?

I was going to throw a bag of garbage in an abandoned house dumpster just the other day and there's some car parked with the lights on facing me and it's just like well?! What the f*** are you doing already?! I think I also said... ooh! I just want to drive up there and fuckin kill this guy
