Why don’t museums take snow pants at coat check?

Today I went out to the city with my daughters and we went to an art museum. It was very cold and windy out today so I made sure we were all bundled up very warm. We wore long underwear under our pants with snow pants on top. This kept us nice and warm when we were outside but walking around inside the museum was a different story!

I was unaware that there was any of your outer wear, that wouldn't be checkable.

@Serenitree I asked if they could hang the snow pants on the same hanger as our coats and they said we would have to pay for a separate hanger.

@SingleMother Oh, so they'll take it but want to charge extra. That's nuts. It's not as if every person who goes there needs to check several items of clothing. Not like taking the extra from you was going to move them into the next tax bracket. Sheesh.

i think it is because they charge for each item. otherwise people would put multiple coats over each other on one hanger.

Interesting question!! Because I rarely see snow

@Cajunfirefly even if there’s no snow but it’s cold out I’ll still wear snow pants.

How cold was it you needed snow gear?
SingleMother · 46-50, F
@Footballstar it was in the 20s (F) but it felt a lot colder because of the windchill
