Why is your best friend your best friend?

Scarboroughfair · 51-55, F
We have lots in common, the same sense of humour and love our time together. If we dont see each other for a week or so we really miss each other. Yesterday I bought her this

Because even when we 1st met and I had too much social anxiety to say a word to him, he understood and was always funny and cool to me, he had a hard life and despite not having the hardest life myself I feel for those that have, we eventually became like brothers to each other, now though we live a few hundred miles apart and almost never get to talk anymore.

idk how to put it aside from basically an imaginary friend that came to life, shes just everything exactly the same i remember as a child i would wish to have & i met her when i was 13 & instantly clicked right away, we're very inseparable... except for the fact now shes gone to the usa to study we still talk everyday

She's the most wonderful human being ever and isn't one by like me.
Understanding, helpful, kind, lame sense of humour like me, never judges me regardless of how much I fck up and always there for me.

We've known each other for so many years and have always been there for each other when the chips are really down. She's a lovely, genuinely caring person.
He makes things more enjoyable even when they’re shit, I had a shit day today at work and I told him all about it and he caused me to laugh about it, he never intends to but he always manages to make me laugh about my shit stories and when I look back on them they no longer seem like shit anymore just funny incidents I tend to experience often. The care and concern is also really great too it’s genuine, and I know this because of how differently I’m treated compared to others.

My two best friends are gone now; they were my precious little rescue girls i got from a local shelter. My last one had to be euthanized this past July 7th. Their urns with their photos rest on my coffee table. Everyday i tell them i love and miss them. They're waiting for me at The Rainbow Bridge; perhaps God will grant that i see them again.

To try to put in one word, maybe trust. I would say besides my wife I have two others. One male one female and both I've known for a very long time, they know almost everything about me and I of them and we still trust and like each other anyway. I would do anything in the world either of them or their families needed, they would never have to ask twice and although we don't see each other as often (both in completely different states, one three time zones away) it will never change even if we don't really talk to each other so much.

I don't have one, so make of that what you will.
