Would you like to become an FBI profiler? why?

On one hand, I think it would be very interesting to determine what makes people tick. On the other, you would be subjected to such depravity that it would have to affect you.

I thought I did, even went so far as to get my graduate degree in psychology. Then I decided, or came to the realization rather, that in order to be so I would be required to think as the person whom I want to profile. Being that I am also very empathic, and that I tend to take on what I think other people are feeling, and that eventually I would build those mental pathways in my mind related to those kind of people I decided it probably wasn't a good idea, and gave it up.

I went back to school and obtained a computer science degree, and then worked for 6 months for an agency, setting up fake computer networks and then profiling people who attempted to illegally gain access to those networks. Didn't like it at all and soon quit.

Only for certain people, I imagine this is the reason why there are so few profilers who do that type of work for any length of time.
