@sassypants To be quite honest, first with myself, and so, with others, I grew up being a people-pleaser, rescuing others from the pain of their lives so I could survive parents who I thought were going to kill me if I [b][i]didn't[/i][/b] rescue them. That survival strategy carried over into my adult life, and sneaks up on me from time to time. So, I'm careful to remain conscious of what's behind my helping others.
