I Am An Mra

Jack Barnes had this to say earlier today about Valerie Solanas (The women who shot Andy Warhol)

She tried to kill three men. Just because she didn't succeed is irrelevant. The fact she was insane only goes to strengthen the case that feminism is a mental disorder.

So Jack now believes "feminism is a mental disorder". What a quiet well considered guy he is.

The MRA movement needs to give him a stiff word now and again before he loses them any more supporters, don't they?

The woman he is referring to wrote: "Thankfully, I happen to be an attorney and had the resources to provide the necessary professional assistance to my son. The charges against him were ultimately dismissed but not before he and our family had to suffer through this ordeal. I am of course relieved and most grateful for this outcome. Yet I am also keenly aware not only of how easily this all could have gone the other way—with life-altering consequences—but how all too often it does.

Across the country and with increasing frequency, innocent victims of impossible-to-substantiate charges are afforded scant rights to fundamental fairness and find themselves entrapped in a widening web of this latest surge in political correctness. Few have a lawyer for a mother, and many may not know about the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, which assisted me in my research.

There are very real and horrifying instances of sexual misconduct and abuse on college campuses and elsewhere. That these offenses should be investigated and prosecuted where appropriate is not open to question. What does remain a question is how we can make the process fair for everyone."

now my response: I honestly don't think feminism is what brought this about. This legislation was put into action by the Office of Civil Rights. The Office of Civil Rights is not just made up of feminists.

In addition, this legislation is gender neutral and applies to both males and females. As a result, if a boy did the same thing and made these allegations against his ex girlfriend as a form of revenge, his ex girlfriend would go through the exact same thing as this woman's son did.

Its silly how when something like this happens to a boy many MRAs automatically assume that the law or rule that made it happen only applies to males and as a result was created by feminists without reading it and understanding that the majority of the time it applies to "PEOPLE" meaning both males and females.

If this happened to an MRA's daughter or son I would feel sorry for both of them, and so would many other feminists because we are about equality and fairness for everyone.

Its a counter attack against feminism and women in general. I was so appalled when I read the vicious things that Elam writes about women, and not just feminists, on the AVfM website. He has made it clear that he and his minions have a problem with women and equal rights, and not feminism, and that they aren't really activists and are just whiners and complainers. Most good people realize that when something is broken or isn't working they need to fix it instead of just whining and complaining about it.
