Your Co-Worker in the same Office Reek of bad smell

Whether it's sweat or mouth breath or any kind of bad stench that is not comfortable.
What will you do about it when you are in the same office or together as friends?
Gusman · 61-69, M
Tell them straight. Never been in that situation. Though 6 months ago I walked into a TAB betting outlet and it stunk so bad.
Everyone was whispering complaints, the Manager was spraying air freshener. I thought, WTF ?
Saw this big arse guy sitting in front off the screens and he was putrid stinky. Urine stinky.
I walked up to him and said,
" You need to go home mate and have a shower because you stink and you are a health hazard to everyone here. The manager is losing money because people are walking in and walking out again. Go home. "
Obviously he got really pissed off, but because I spoke up, other people started to raise their voices and complain.
He got up and walked out.

@Gusman I wish i can be brave like you

@Abood3033 Then leave an anonymous note on their desk. Type written or somehow that the writer can not be identified. Several co workers in the office ?
Do not make it an angry note. Be gentle but truthful. No need to identify yourself.
If you two are friends, easier to bring it up. They will appreciate being told.
Or give that person a present of Body spray. Explain why if he/she becomes offended. Be brave. Some people do not know that they are odorous.
Just don't turn it into a shouting match.

@Gusman yes several co workers, the other co workers doesn't mind the smell since they coped with it...
I like your idea about the anonymous note with an anonymous handwriting. Thank you.

they invented this shit called deodorant. go get some.
you smell like a sweage workers butcrack..

etc etc
Abood3033 · 31-35, M
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout you would seriously do that.. they might report you to the managers
then id tell my manager to take a wiff for himself..
i dont think i work with anyone that thin skinned to go running to managers. in the end that will only hurt them, nobody would want to work with them

I have had to approach a friend I did drywall with about taking a bath ,
it sucks to walk into a closet on stilts and all you can smell is butt
get in a car with him in the winter and have to keep the window down
but I prefer people to tell me the truth ,even if I may not like it
for me, him and an ex brother in law were a lot better company after I spoke with them ,
there is a way to be tactful and not hurt people ,
and even if they do get mad ,you won't have to smell them ,they will avoid you
Abood3033 · 31-35, M
@rckt148 i will try to be tactful and avoid telling them straightforward..

hi Abood3033
Depends if you are confidant dealing with it alone yourself. If nit is a workplace issue so ask your manager to deal with i and keep you out of it
best wishes

Ask the privately and nicely to fix it. If they don't, tell your boss or quit. Understand that you or they may end up fired.
SW-User
