Why is it socially acceptable to be racist towards white people?

The perks are not having store owns do a double take when you walk in due to your skin out of fear you will steal. The perks are cops are likely not to bother you as much. The perks are it's very very unlikey you will get denied anything do to your skin color

Those aren't perks.

@Clouds: Um yes they are it means you don't have to deal with shit others who aren't white often do. That's a perk

Oh, please. I am white and have had cops mess with me PLENTY. Had GUNS pulled on me twice. My privilege card doesn't work. The best we can do is try to rise above all this and not contribute to further problems. It's up to all of us. "Always do the right thing!"

@uncalled4: Good for you just like everything in life there are acceptions. So for everyone 1 white guy that has that shit happen you can bet your ass 5 minority members have that happen. Don't give me that "Do the right thing" Shit! Stop trying to avoid the reality and accept it and then move on

@BrittanyXXY: Not denying there are racism issues. There are, and it makes me angry and sad. Let's just do the best we can. Saying that white people have a free ride through privilege is just not supportable.

@uncalled4: By "Just not supportable" if you mean there is no proof of that then you have an entire mountain of studies and personal experiences and contrasting them with white peoples to deal with. We can all work together but let's all admit what's in front of us

@BrittanyXXY: I work in NYC, and have for almost 20 years, among all kinds of groups. Very few people get caught up in it. There is a black manager who shows preference to hiring other blacks. Is that racism? Maybe. But, what I have seen usually evens out, and I work side by side with all kinds of people. There is even a predominantly black company I used to know which hires plenty of white people. I am not saying that racism is not a problem, but the media makes it out to be this all-encompassing, unlivable problem. It's not. The media LOVE to divide us, when deep inside we are all the same.

@uncalled4: I would believe that and respect that but things in society show Whites have advantages. You can't ignore that

@uncalled4: had guns on me too.. never fun. Been dui tested on the road side, car searched, been threatened, when I hadn't done anything. Cops are unpredictable.

@BrittanyXXY: I'm sorry, I don't agree with you. I'm not saying that bias doesn't exist. It does. It almost has to. It's just that I don't see it and have never lived it in 49 years. Life is unfair to lots of people in lots of ways, not just because of skin color. Is there Black Privilege in Harlem or the South Bronx? Probably. It's just this constant black vs. white sh*t that ultimately leads nowhere. The only solution is to look past perceived cultural differences.
