Bin it. Move on.
Life sucks after a rejection.
But the more you pine for what you can't have, the more you remain blindfolded to all the possible love interests out there !!!!
Throw yourself into your work; studies whatever.
Silly season approaches and that means get togethers; parties; dinners; events etc.
Take advantage of all of them !
No substitute for getting out there !!

Everybody's different mate. There's no right or wrong answer, it depends on many things.
You sound like a sensitive bloke though, so I would say try not to let it get to much on top of you.
Good luck.

I still think about a love lost over 40 years ago.

And I thought I took a long time.

@Razoreye001: lol...didn't say I was obsessing, just think about her from time to time. My point is that people in our lives, in our heart, affect us and they don't just "go away"...they leave us different than before we met them.
You shouldn't forget them, you're not the same as you were before you met.
