I'm quickly losing Faith in God and Religion?

When I was younger I use to be really religious and had a strong belief in God and the Christian faith. However now that I am older my faith is about the size of an apple seed. Religion in itself has become more of a business (a quick way to make money). I could talk all day about my reasons for losing faith. But in short I am starting to realize I b*ll sh*t it all is. Religious people are some of the most judgmental & hypocritical people I've ever met.

All I can say about religion is to believe in the faith, not the church.

Agree especially with the last sentence. I still pray sometimes when there’s no other thing to do

Religion was invented by some dudes so you will give them your money and let them tell you what to do so they don't have to work for a living.

Your faith in God isn't dependent upon which group you associate yourself with.

Myself, when I want to be closer to God, I go to the woods.

Yes I can relate and was actually discussing this yesterday how religion seems more evil to me than good. I avoid it at all costs.
Many people go through exactly what you experienced.

I'm somewhat in that same boat. I was deeply faithful when younger, but life and the cruelty of others has sort of beaten that out of me.

I don't want to lose my faith, but I feel it happening.

You have still have faith in God and Jesus and have religious beliefs even if you no longer go to the church, or interact with people you don't like

It’s normal. Evaluate if religion is important to you or not. If not, discard it.

Organized religion is the root of all evil.

When you look at the arguments presented to justify some aspects of the bible it quickly becomes very twisted

You (general use)can argue about the sexism, mass murder, inappropriately harsh punishments, failure to condemn slavery etc or... you can just stop looking to an external source to determine your mortality

Work on your own spiritual growth.

Most religions are man made, just a power structure that controls people and their money. But you can be spiritual, believing in god, not man made. Look at near death experiences. They seem real.

I have found solace by focusing on humanity instead of a deity.

There are good people in the world. There are so many aspects of life to be enjoyed. There are many communities you can be part of.

That's fine, it's good to question things then let them go. If their is light in your heart you will find your way home.

Look into Jehovah's witnesses organisation. I'm born into it so it kind of makes me the spokes-person for it, but still I think we're as little of the ugly side of religion you can get. Meaning it's pretty damn genuine.
