Think first responders should be trained in dealing with autism?

OK, so if First responders are trained in dealing with autism, what else should they be trained in dealing with? I ask because though First responders do many things, it seems to me, and I was one for 33 years, that different occupations in the first responder realm overlap, and cops and firefighters are tasked to do more in the area of medical/social welfare, and that, though positive, does not necessarily serve their primary functions.
When first responders, other than possibly, Medical Doctors who might see that a person is autistic; are involved with people, they may not be trained or aware on a level to discern that a person is autistic or has other issues which might affect their behavior.
It would appear prior to training a new employee such as the one you describe, the problem may well have been at the hiring process at your HR section. Those people need to be familiar with the "problems" that walk in looking for employment.

Yes. They need to be trained in a lot of things they aren't.
