How would you feel if you can never return to the place where you were born?

If you were forced to leave your home as a very young kid... Spending rest of your life as refugee in your own country... trying to survive..to live...

I did leave home at 13
after being accepted into the service at 16 ,my parents asked me to move back home until I was shipped out to boot camp ,,I married prior to going in ,so I had my own family now ,,a man is to leave his father and Mother and cleave unto his wife forsaking all others ,thats the way my grandma raised me
4 years away in the service ,then I live in the next town ,but I had my own place right away .close to my job working on the rail road .
my wife and I split up after 10 yrs and 3 kids in 1983 ,,I was only 24.
but I was determined not to move home ,,so I moved in with a girl I met ,
and we lived together for 5 yrs ,until she cheated on me with my younger brother ,,that divided the family for 8 yrs
My Dad asked me if I wanted to take a trip with him ,so he takes me several states away ,and leaves me with on $10.00 in my pocket
I knew my Mom was behind it (she was afraid I might kill her baby boy )
I met my second wife 6 months later and we married 1 year to the day of Dad leaving me .
7 yrs later ,she left me .disabled .and I ended up homeless even though we had just paid our home off ,
I just gave it to my ex and she sold it
I said I would never return to my home state ,,but I found my kids that my first wife had hid from me for 12 years ,,so I moved back to be close to them

I moved to a city where the only people who knew me believed lies told on me to justify my wife leaving me and taking my kids ,,so I was not welcomed by anyone except my kids that didn't really know me
But I won full custody of them and we stayed ,,I didn't want to uproot their lives ,and people began to see I was not the monster I was painted out to be .
In 1997 I parked my motor home on my Dads estate ,and remained there taking care of him until he passed in 2000 ,while still maintaining my own home across the state ,and I helped pay for my Dads doctor bills and medications
|He passed the day after my birthday 2000
I stayed and supported Mom until his social security kicked in to support herself and then I went back to my own home (she reverse Mortgaged the place Dad paid off and managed to keep out of debt for $185.000.00 ,,,it was valued at over $300.000.00)
14 months before her death I moved back into the house I lived 13 yrs and swore I would never live in again when I left at 13 .(never say never )
She was dying and needed me to look after her
When she passed ,I moved back to my home again ,,and told the people she borrowed money from .using the estate ,they could have it ,,
I had my own home ..they felt the land was more valuable without a 50 yr old house ,,so they tore it down
Just an empty lot remains
It was never a home to me anyway
Home is where you're heart is ..my kids grew up 3 hours from where I grew up
They love it here and now so do I ..this is now my home too
When all the place you grew up in holds is nothing but bad memories and death
It wasn't much of a loss to me
All of my immediate family is dead anyway ,,no Aunts or Uncles ,only 3rd cousins ..my first cousins are all dead .I only have 1 brother left .he still lives just miles from where we grew up .but he nor my brother who killed himself ever looked out for our parents ,,they let their women support them so they can't say they ever took care of themselves .
I took care of my parents when they needed me
My siblings wanted the place ,,but they didn't step up to pay off the loan
guess it wasn't that important to them either
I am sorry you feel like a refugee ,,I call myself a survivor
I never counted on anyone except myself ,
Now I have a family ,,my kids ..thats all I need
They gave me 6 grandkids ,,my son is only 11
I am sure if I live to see it ,,he will add to that

I adapted to my new country. It was my father's dream and I honor his wish.
