I'd laugh. Then I'd tell the person its unfortunate their son was diagnosed but reassure them it's known to occur if you're genetically predisposed to it, it's also triggered by environmental factors. That since this is not something that runs in our family, I can't imagine my 9 year old developing this.
Thank them for telling me, that until they find a way to manage their son with the correct medication it may be for the best they keep their son away from mine.

I’d remind the neighbor that more risk factors than [b]age[/b] and happenstance determine such a diagnosis. I’d suggest he or she focus on caring for their [b]own[/b] child, that should be challenge enough.
