Do you consider yourself a moral person?

Is it a big deal for you in general?

i try to use all i have learned throughout my life to make the best choices.

@soulsrespite Excessive learning most of it. I try to understand more about most everything. In my experience so far it's made me able to deal with things in an altogether different way than most i know, with hate and anger replaced by understanding i can make things easier for others, and myself, while learning more about people. Of course it's all a work in progress and i feel a great deal, i've just gotten better at handling and quickly dissipating it.
I find i'm better at giving wisdom to others than myself lol :)
you sound like you are way on your way to many great things(: and you are your greatest teacher (: @Axelerator

@soulsrespite I certainly hope so, once i defeat myself properly haha :)
That's what i'm aiming towards, enourmous trust in my own ability to handle any situation and being able to quickly adapt when out of place. Trusting in others is important and valuable, but my "Faith" in myself almost never shakes, regardless of how low a mood i might be in.

I think I have a moral standard in regards to how I interact with others. I need a moral standard for my personal conduct (actions that effect me only and no one else).

For example, there’s a big terror attack like christchurch or something. Is it immoral to watch the video from the stream?

@MrMonnyPenny I wouldn't think less of you for watching something like that, but many would. I will say this though, be careful with stuff like that, i don't mean it casually. I have had morbid curiosity in life as well and watched plenty of people die online, and while i think it's important to at least know the difference between a movie and reality, i don't think it's a good thing to watch too much of it.
It's hard to explain, but it does something to you, i don't think think anyone is supposed to see people brutally murdered often, and it can affect you, some more than others of course. A word of warning if you do decide to watch that.

I think it’s about what intentions you have behind watching this stuff. You either watch it to be entertained, as some of the sickos in the comments clearly are. Or you kind of solemnly spectate the tragedy to have a deeper closer empathy to the situation.

However, even if you regularly watch videos with the second intention you can still go a bit too far down the rabbit hole. When you see the dead- especially when mutilated or ripped apart - it makes you question the worth of a human life itself. “This pile of meat is a human?”

I’m leaning more towards avoiding this stuff now.

@MrMonnyPenny I agree and you sound like you've figured out the crux of it yourself :)

And yes that's another danger as well. I think learning about the more horrible things is important, but just being aware of the potential effect is good as well.

I decided the same, and i think that's the right call tbh.

I do have a sense of morals and values that I stand by, I think they are necessary in society and in life ( they help keep things in check and prevent total chaos). I will express them when I feel necessary to do so, but I don't use them to necessarily judge others nor do I push them on people.
Axelerator · 26-30, M
@indyjoe Yeah that seems reasonable.

I have my own morals. Similar to the standard stuff. I stand by them, and that is important to me. I rarely feel the need to push them though.. unless the other person won't go away

@SW-User Sounds reasonable.

@Axelerator I certainly think so.

@SW-User Do you try to be?
I definitely have a moral compass that guides my sense of right and wrong. I recognize that it’s subjective, though. 🤔

@bijouxbroussard I think one of the most important things is wanting to be moral, i expect your compass is of good quality.
