I realize that my school days were a long time ago, but I was picked on a lot because I was quiet and well behaved.

It left me with the feeling that I wasn't like other teenage girls. I think I missed out on developing the social skills needed in life. I see other women my age marrying and having kids - I tell myself that I don't want all of that and I'm repulsed by the idea of being tied down with kids, but maybe deep down I know that these are things I can't have.

My daughter was bullied -long story short - 2 years in a psychological unit when she should've been at school. 23 now and never really finished her education will probably be on social for life. The reason for being bullied? She was the only one smarter than the bully (from the village they lived in, neither would've gone to a top uni) and wouldn't join in when she picked on other kids.

@GeniUs With me, it wasn't so much bullying as it was social exclusion and just being ignored. I was able to complete my education and obtain a Master's degree. I used to tell myself that I wouldn't need relationships if I have a good career.

Well hopefully you'll be able to build a circle of friends based on where your degree takes you, it's always a lot easier to talk to people about a subject you have a mutual interest in and then with luck it will lead to a relationship from there.

sorry to hear that, PL. i wish you the good fortune of finding a group of gals to be best buds with. good tight friends are a blessing. *hugs to you*
Why can’t you have them? I mean if you did want them.

@Spoiledbrat I have a hard time forming relationships with people.
Oh, I see. Maybe it won’t always be that way. Sometimes I wish I would have stayed single longer than I did. @PrettyLesley

Why "can't" you have them?
PrettyLesley · 31-35, F
@OwnerOfMany For one thing, I can't imagine myself falling in love with a man who's not on a tv screen.

@PrettyLesley LOL...A true seeker of perfection. You have got to be precious but your quest is going to take a while.
