Why we doubt people around us?

why is the trust so rare in society that was structured with it
SW-User
Because it is the people who are supposed to love us and care for us that betrayed us the most. What chance does a stranger have?
SW-User
@Mystical I agree with this.

@Mystical It's often theory that produces thought that creates understanding. We are a species after all, that needs social sciences to understand ourselves.

So true. I will append my last comment with evolution of theory from logical stand point@SW-User

First of all, I don't believe in any kind of "golden era" of humanity. Human nature has not changed over our thousands of years of societies. Societies come and go, they have golden and dark ages. There is no great past to aspire to. Looking backward doesn't help. Looking forward is all we can do. One thing's for sure, giving up and giving in to cynicism doesn't help either. It can be hard to find trust in a society that seems to be getting more anonymous. If we could just put ourselves in someone else's shoes more often, I think it would solve a lot of societal problems. If we could stop seeing people who are different from us as "the other", it might be easier to trust them.

Well, we spent thousands of years killing each other. So that prolly has something to do with it. Other people are often threats, so trust has to be built. And even then, with human imperfection, mistakes are constantly made, which further reduces one's ability to know that someone will be beneficial to them.

Agreed to the entirety of every word. The big question is till what extent? When will we bounce back to the core idea??@Tatsumi

We are fallible people, often with our own issues. I don't see society structured as trusting people, though. I see a lot of our biases, judicially in law, culturally are born in distrust but that's me and maybe I have grown cynical.

I believe the foundation of society was trust. Trust among group of people to help each other. What has vanished over time is the core idea of society. What has spread is idea of greed.@SW-User

Have you seen society lately?
Mystical · 31-35, M
I agree to that. We are on the 2019th floor of a society that has rust on its foundation. How long do you think this building will stand.@Bagalamaga

@Mystical the more important question is what happens when it collapses
Mystical · 31-35, M
That is the part that give me solace. We will build it again from scratch. From mistakes, learning and warnings of today@Bagalamaga
