Are you finding that as time passes you have less in common with your parents

wildbill83 · 36-40, M
probably more in common tbh; then again, I've always had more in common, similar ideologies with older generations than younger ones, or even my own in many cases...🤔
Les02 · 26-30, F
@wildbill83 That’s probably a good thing then, you will probably remain close forever.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@Les02 I have much of the same career experience as my father, so we think alike in many cases
ArtieKat · M
Yep - they're dead, I'm alive (I think). That's a pretty big difference!
Les02 · 26-30, F
@ArtieKat I’m sure it does, if there is an afterlife, in due course you will have something new in common with them, that’s of course if they have landed in the same place, lol. Either way it will make a good conversation piece when the time comes.

@Les02 On balance I don't believe in an afterlife although I do concede that there is a lot associated with the paranormal which remains unexplained.
Caprice · 41-45, F
In some ways yes, but in other ways I find myself much the same.
Les02 · 26-30, F
@Caprice I suppose under normal circumstances that’s the way it would normally be.
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
Kinda the opposite for me. 🤷‍♀️
Les02 · 26-30, F
@sarabee1995 That’s nice to hear, it’s my choice of lifestyle that has driven a wedge between my parents and I.
r3tr0sp3ct · 31-35, M
Yes, absolutely
Les02 · 26-30, F
@r3tr0sp3ct Sadly I’m finding that too, but at the same time I’m glad I don’t share some of their beliefs.
r3tr0sp3ct · 31-35, M
@Les02 yeah same, it's both sad but good. I've found it makes for more interesting conversation at least lol
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
Never really thought about it.
Les02 · 26-30, F
@MartinTheFirst Now you have some food for thought.
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@Les02 hmm
