Typewriters or ink and quill for a character on stage to use as an author

The character will be pretending to write something on stage however I do not know what audiences would prefer to see as both give off different feels. It is not a matter of when the show is set as its set in a world outside of our own, somewhere without time, without logic.

Ink & quill or pen & paper is the way authors work, for they need to capture something instantly... best would be chalk & blackboard for it is ideal for stage ..

@BlackcurrentSundae not necessary .. author's do have writing assistants .. for an author is an authority.. But if you can give a computer its lovely .. but not a typewriter ..

The reason why I say this is cause I am an author .. and I have experienced it .. and I know how the typewriter is most unsuitable while authoring .. nothing like paper & pen .. as even computer is secondary to me ..

@in10RjFox I am a writer looking to publish next year. I could never let someone else write my story. It feels entirely wrong. I stand by what I said about authors. How can we trust a book truly is written by the author if you state not all authors write the stories. It makes me 2nd guess every author out there and makes me feel disheartened. Look my question has nothing to do with is it easier for the author to write with. Ive already said the show is illogical. Im asking for visual and potential audible satisfaction, not practicality. This is for an exam in Circus.

@BlackcurrentSundae think you got confused with ghost writers.. what I meant is writing assistants who just write or type what author says.. hope you have heard of Stenographers ?

@RippinKlouds Unfortunately, this section of the performance is pushing paper books. I know you can print after your done but it gives the wrong message of what we are trying to do.
