What part of your childhood that haunted you till now?

dumpstermeow · 41-45, F
I don't really talk about that.
@dumpstermeow oh wow. 🖤🤗
SW-User
@dumpstermeow It's okay. I understand you.
Alcoholism. The physical violence that happened. I can neither tolerate alcoholics nor corporal punishment for children. Nor can I tolerate yelling still.

The feeling that it wasn't safe. Couldn't speak out. Couldn't speak up. As an adult, I learned how to speak out and up. I think when I turned eighteen, I realized I couldn't be silent anymore. I had a voice and I needed to express myself.

@PoetryNEmotion That is the good thing to do. I appreciate the action that you dare to stands up for the rights of people!
@SW-User Being in a childhood where it was unsafe and being vulnerable all the time, those made me a warrior. I have a knack for speaking up for others who lack voices figuratively and literally. I am proud to do so. Thank you.

the years I had to go live with my father and mother, he was cruel to my mother and to us kids too.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DarkHeaven I don’t know how one person can do so much evil in their lifetime and not serve time in prison. He was an outlaw living in Mexico when he was 17-19 years old.
@cherokeepatti I’m so sorry. 🖤 Horrible.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@DarkHeaven The law needs to deal with them and not let them slither away.
Cuppy · 22-25, F
most part to be honest, I never had a great childhood. It affects me a lot even to this day.
It has haunted me before, but I learned to cope with everything better.
Cuppy · 22-25, F
@SW-User 🤗❤️
@Cuppy I agree. #fighter

@SW-User Thanks Anna! 🤗
SW-User
I'm not exactly "haunted" by it. But it has affected me a lot, probably. From when I was 4 until I was around 14/15 was probably the worst time in my life.
@SW-User I’m so sorry. 🖤🤗
SW-User
@SW-User I'm so sorry to know that. I wish people don't have to go through their tough time in their childhood. :(

😊 *hugs* The past is just the past. You will be fine.
SW-User
From the age of 6 to 13 I'd rather forget I ever existed for that time period and block it out from my memory.

@SW-User Me too & thanks. 🖤 Or at least not get worse or my meds quit working. I’m terrified of ever having to go back there. 🦋
The way my peers treated me right up until high school. I wish I could forget.

Wlloyd · 80-89, M
From the age of 6 until I was 10 I spent my summer with a great aunt. It was an abusive relationship for me and had a lasting negative impact on me especially with my relationships with women.
SW-User
@Wlloyd I'm glad that it was over. *Give you a positive hug* 🤗
Wlloyd · 80-89, M
@SW-User Thanks
GerOttman · 61-69, M
mostly my mother, she could be a hard and mean woman. I see other people with positive relations and memories of their parents and feel a bit wistful sometimes.
SW-User
@GerOttman Wish you a lot of strength and positivity. I understand your situation.

my dad not wanting to be a part of my life..
SW-User
@hardenedheart People are not always perfect. Those who hurt you do not deserve your love. There are good people out there who are ready to be a part of your life, and they will show you that you are the one who deserves love and happiness. Love is within you.

*Bring the joy to your heart* 🤗😇❤️
