“Being a Republican is a religion and being a Democrat is science.”

Do you agree or disagree with this statement and why?

I disagree. Being a partisan hack (following any party line no matter what, all the time, without thinking) is basically a religious way of thinking. What I do believe is that Republicans like to base more of their personal-issues policies on religion, and Democrats like to base more of their environmental policies on science.

As an independent I have to say that makes absolutely no sense

Disagree with both

Disagree with both. Democrats seem to be very emotional and don't seem to think through the ultimate consequences of their policies (no science about any of it), whereas Republicans seem to be far less emotional and focus on policies that will be good for the nation as a whole. There may be some Republicans who are religious, but they would be offended if someone told them that their politics was a religion.

@4meAndyou I disagree with that. (The current Republican Party) at least.

@KillerShrek Agree to disagree.😊

I personally feel that the current two party system is flawed. They’re both a disease.

The science of lies , deceit , and the Saul Alinski playbook?
A couple of people on here are already mixing science and religion. Let's not add politics to the mix as well.

Republicans are more anti-science, but liberals are not immune e.g., antivaccers.

Strongly disagree. Affiliating with a party period is akin to religion. When you tie your identity to a political party you become blind to their failings and it is harder to process new information without bias.

I'm more inclined to vote for Democrats because I believe their policies are better than Republicans. But I am not a Democrat because I like critical and independent thinking.
