What have been the things you’ve sacrificed for the ones you love most?

rckt148 · 61-69, M
Nothing
in the end ,my family will be there for me
Thats what family is suppose to do
that used to be how it was done
None of my elders have passed in nursing homes
The people I have helped wasn't a sacrifice either
When I was homeless ,,lots of people showed love and kindness to me
When your homeless and disabled ,thats a place no one should be
I have taken a lot in this world ,its only right when I was able to I gave some back
I had my time ,years of only caring about me ,it was lonely
I enjoy doing for other people ,,but I am wise enough to know the difference from helping and being an enabler for the users and takers

Thats how you get to know them apart
you get burned a few times ,but you learn
I hate people who say they won't help others ,,,"I got burned 1 time "
my answer is "Only 1 time " ,,,then you haven't known the joy of helping anyone
Your a quitter ,you can't learn anything by only doing it 1 time
Even Christ said teach them to fish ,,most people don't learn how to fish only going 1 time

Not a lot to be honest with you.

I let go of some choices that would have been more true to who I was at the time. Let go of my own interests or wants or needs more often than not. But where I stand now, I’d say I’ve gained as much as I’ve lost if not more, so I don’t really look back and see “sacrifices.”
