Does anyone else have a huge distrust of insurance companies? 😖

Yes and rightly so. I used to work for one (vehicle) and their practices were to con the most amount of money from customers, then add-ons (a lot of time without customers consent), get their way out of paying, collude with other insurers and try to get both parties involved to take blame (increases both of their renewal prices for the next 7 years)......after moving to compliance and listening directly to all sales calls and realising that it was much worse than I thought I woke up one morning and just couldn't go to work. Institutional scumbags.

@gol979 House insurance only while you are paying your morgage/bond... not compulsory when you have completed all your payments.

Vehicle insurance not compulsory either.

@iMystery There's genuine benefits to the idea of cost-sharing, but I think that's something best utilized by [i]governments[/i] and not [i]corporations.[/i] Once you try to bring profit into cost-sharing the benefits fly out the window.
