Are you a fair/just person?would you defend/stand by your spouse/SO, sibling or parents even if they are wrong or appologize for the mistake?

we all know no one is perfect and we have all have flaws. is it morally and ethically right to stand by your loved ones (parents,siblings/spouse/SO or Friends) and defend them knowingly or unknowingly that they may be wrong.? or investigate first before picking sides?
