Is stamping out bulling in schools a good thing?

I mean, learning how to deal with A-Holes is an important life lesson you know.

I feel like their are other ways to learn how to deal with them without constantly being bullied. ..

We are trying to create an idealised, perfect environment for them... One which unfortunately will do NOTHING to prepare them for real life.

It hardly manages now to be honest.

I agree but no matter how many initiatives we come up with, kids will attempt to bully others. Parents still need to teach their kids how to handle themselves in these situations.

I kinda agree with that ....That is part of learning how to cope with jerks ,but bullies do suck

@SW-User Its like the trend of not having a winner in school sports events, abit eeeerrrr! IDK!

@SW-User I hear ya! Kids need to learn that they aren't always going to win at everything ...I find some kids don't have any coping skills because parents rush out to medicate their children instead of letting them experience failure...let them feel it so that they know what real joy feels like

The bullying I faced at school has lead to an eating disorder that I still have now at 27. I grew up in an abusive home and then went to school where I was bullied mercilessly. The way I was treated by other children has done irreparable damage to me. It didn't teach me how to deal with anything, it just taught me a lot of different types of hurt.

When 10 year old kids are hanging themselves because of bullying, yes I think stamping it out is a good thing.

To some degree, and in some instances, it needs to be stopped. Many, if not most have been at one time or another, bullied. A bit here and there is part of life; but when it becomes a daily, never ending thing, it needs to be stopped. When it leads to life long psychological damage, or even death, it must be dealt with.
Master's & Johnson, Benjamin Spock, McGraw-Hill, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Scholastic, and the people behind the scenes in academia, general media, politics, and social engineering have changed the dynamic in the last 60 years or so drastically.
Some of us hate the change, including myself.
Others applaud it.
John Wayne and Clint Eastwood have been replaced by Richard Simmons and Micheal Moore.

@puck61 Unfortunately both John Wayne and Clint Eastwood were themselves fictions. Personas they played.

I definitely think it's worth discussing and trying to make it better. I was bullied and yea it made me stronger, but some people struggle with chemical depression or mental illness or retardation that prevents them from having the physical capacity to understand how to not let it get to you
Thats stupid. Kids need to be taught boundaries & need to build healthy self esteem in a safe environment. Bullies need to be punished & expelled. Assholes arent the same as bullies. Bullying is abusive & sadistic.

Stamping could be described as a form of bullying

We shouldn't hold parents responsible for teaching kids to be respectful to others? They should just do what they want and the rest just deal with their irrational behavior?

To a point , yes there need to be consequences for this and it needs to be enforced ...some go too soft and that doesn't work but there needs to be a balance ,and getting that right takes time but I believe can ge achieved @Stereoguy
