Do you think that children born today will have better or worse lives than their parents?

Worse. I'm not one of those people who think technology is evil and destroying communication, because we are actually communicating a lot more--but I'm a strong believer that giving two year olds ipads to keep them happy instead of actually interacting with them and playing with them is really hurting face to face communication skills.
I also read an interesting article a while back looking at how kids' comfidence and relationships with their parents are suffering because when they're doing something and look back at their parents to gauge their reactions their parents are on their phones.
I just don't think kids are going to have enough real life social skills to make it.

@boklenholley7 agree totally.
I work with kids. More and more very young children are starting school with very little in the way of communication skills, more and more speech difficulties and dreadful social skills.
It gets worse every year. I can not see it improving. The way things have changed in the last 7 years or so is frightening.

People today are very selfish. They may well give their kids everything they need and want in material terms....but they don't invest their time anymore. Young kids are not getting the interactions with their parents previous generation had....and it's causing huge social problems....how can it possibly be a better childhood? How can that make their lives better when they are not being guided in basic social and cmmunication skills?

It's been worse for the last generation, and it isn't getting any better.

Depends on the parents and where in the world they are.

I would say different, not worse, not better. Their grandparents might have better lives though.
Also it depends on the country they live in.
Worse, in some ways, better in other. They'll live with unbelievable technological advances---and a cost of living so outrageous they might not be able to afford them.
